I really want to go back out west, and go horseback riding through the desert again. This was probably one of the greatest days I’ve experienced. Nothing but the sun, and a great time with my sister.
I need to go back.
Let’s see if I can keep your guys attention anymore.

Hey guys, I’m not sure how many of you will actually see this post, but for anyone who is interested. I want to take a road trip next summer, and on my way, I am going to meet up with some people that I meet on here, to discuss the whole concept of expressing ones self via their blog. I will be documenting this trip, and I want to make it into a movie. All I’m asking is that if you might be interested, let me know by replying, sending something in my Ask box, or reblogging this. Spread the word. If you’d like to be a part of this, but enjoy tumblr for the fact that you can hide behind the comfort of Anonymity, that’s cool too! I promise that anyone who wants to be involved, but remain anonymous can still be a part too! So please, let me know if you are interested, and I will get in contact with you. Thanks! -Shawn

Well, this is my first blog post. I’ve been trying to decide for hours what this post should say. I kept thinking that it had to set the tone for what every other post on here would be like but then I realized it didn’t. It’s just like the first chapter in a book, it’s allowed to suck.
Hey all followers, this is my friend Ben, he’s new to tumblr and this is me getting the word out about his blog. He’s witty and fun, and posts some interesting stuff. Check him out and maybe give him a follow.

This Is Hilarious, You Should Watch It of the Day: Zach Anner, a young Austinite with cerebral palsy (the sexiest of the palsies), pitches a travel show “designed to inspire people who never thought they could travel” for Oprah’s Your Own Show competition.

This is legitimately funny and entertaining. Maybe we can get the internet rally machine going, because I would love to see a show by this kid. Outlandish without obnoxious. I think he should at least get a segment on Oprah.

I am currently on vacation on the Outer Banks in North Carolina. Every year for the past 11 or so years, my family has come down to the same house for a week every July. This year, due to work, I came down a day late, and am going home a few days early. Today is my last day, and I decided to take a walk down to the beach, walk down to an unpopulated area, and relax. As I settled down and lit up a small cigar, I noticed a black Moth flying around in the sand, being chased by a small crab. It landed within arms reach of me, a good 3 or 4 feet ahead of the crab. So I decided to reach out, place my finger on the sand and allow the Moth to climb onto my finger and gain refuge from it’s stalking prey.
For a good twenty to twenty-five minutes, I sat on the beach, observing this small creature as it explored my fingers and palm. The pattern on it’s wings was intricate and hypnotizing. I was completely taken by the beauty of this small, seemingly miniscule and ordinary creature. It was in this amount of time, that I realized how extraordinary it actually was. The swift, light, tickling of it’s legs on my skin was soothing and rather relaxing. I took it in, ignoring everything else around me.
Toward the end of my time with the moth, a thunderhead began rolling in above me, and I knew it was coming time to leave. So I put my hand back down toward the sand, and the Moth crawled off and onto the ground.
As I stood up to leave, the strangest thing happened. The Moth took flight, and followed me the first few steps, and then landed on my arm as I was walking back to the trail home. I was startled at first, but then noticed the crab it had been evading was still waiting for me to leave. It was rather shocking that the moth had realized I was giving it shelter, and decided to stay with me.
Happy to oblige, I continued my journey as the Moth made it’s way back down to its perch on my finger. As soon as I reached the wooden boardwalk that lead through the dunes and back to the road, the Moth crawled around my hand once more, settled on my finger again, and then took flight. I stopped for a minute and watched it make its way through the sky, and then disappeared into the brush.
I was rather, humbled by this experience. I even felt a little sad that my new sidekick had left me, and once again I was alone.
It was amazing. And I will never forget it.
